Job Summary
Engineering Technician – Level 2 with Northrop Grumman Space Sector based in Promontory, UT. This position is 100% onsite with a 4/10 schedule, every Friday off.
Location & SchedulePromontory, UT; 100% onsite. 4/10 work schedule with every Friday off. Travel: 10% of the time.
Role OverviewResponsible for instrumentation installation, assembly, disassembly, and testing of test articles in support of development and production programs. Perform test plan reviews, drawings, specifications, and shop planning. Lead continuous improvement through 5S principles. Requires knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition equipment, mechanical and electrical repair, hazardous chemical handling, and crane/forklift operation.
Job Responsibilities- Work as a member of a safe, collaborative team.
- Install, hook up, check out and operate sensing equipment on test articles.
- Assemble and disassemble mechanical test fixtures.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment; operate specialized testing equipment and tooling.
- Operate standard shop equipment, cranes, manlifts and forklifts.
- Safely handle chemicals, cleaners and bonding compounds.
- Use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database applications for documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Follow shop planning, standard work documents and written instructions accurately.
- Use calibrated measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, electrical meters).
- Proficient with manual and power tools.
- Pass background check for Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
- Qualify for Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) “Explosives Possessor” designation.
- Associate’s degree in a technical or STEM discipline.
- Experience in electronics/data acquisition troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience with two‑part adhesives and bonding operations.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00 (base pay subject to factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education and market conditions).
