This position does require an on-site presence at least three days per week. Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Nurse to function as a member of the Pediatric Gastroenterology team at the Primary Children's Hospital Lehi campus. The team consists of 10 RNs working with 4 NPs and 20 MDs. Responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients via in-person, phone, or patient portal.
Utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status; implements clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms; develops, implements, and evaluates patient care plans and patient education materials to enhance and improve outcomes; and ensures a safe and therapeutic environment.
This position is located at the Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital Miller Campus located at 2250 North Miller Campus Drive, Lehi, UT 84043, with occasional travel to Primary Children's Hospital Eccles Outpatient Building in Salt Lake City, UT.

Essential Functions
* Performs phone management with patients' parents, chart review, care coordination, triage, and problem management.
* Discusses patient and family concerns in person/over the phone and/or via the electronic health record.
* Provides and develops patient/family education materials surrounding common Gastroenterology disorders; communicates education best practices to proactively answer common questions to reduce future messages.
* Communicates adjustments in treatment plan to families.
* Formulates care plans for specific patients and documents the nursing process in patient's record.
* Evaluates patient response to interventions and modifies plan of care as needed to achieve health care goals. Communicates adjustments or changes in treatment plans to patient/family.
