As a valued member of our IV Pediatrics team, the Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering compassionate, family‑centered care to children requiring intravenous therapies. This position involves full‑spectrum nursing responsibilities, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of pediatric patient care. Our nurses integrate advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, and evidence‑based practices to ensure the highest standards of safety and comfort.
Responsibilities- Deliver safe, compassionate, and family‑centered care to children receiving intravenous therapies.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate pediatric patient care across the continuum of IV treatment.
- Apply advanced IV access, infusion therapy, and vascular care techniques.
- Collaborate with physicians, child life specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate seamless treatment.
- Manage care with clinical judgment and independence while ensuring coordination with the broader care team.
- Provide timely interventions to reduce discomfort and support recovery during vulnerable moments.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment start.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- BSN required as of the last update on 4/27/2025 (employees hired or promoted prior to that date will be held to earlier requirements).
- BSN preferred; must be earned at an accredited institution and verified.
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within four (4) years of hire date.
Ongoing need to see, read, and interpret information and labels; assess patient needs; operate monitors; identify equipment and supplies. Frequent verbal communication with patients and care providers; quick and accurate hearing and understanding of spoken information, alarms, and emergencies. Requires manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment, frequent computer use, typing for documentation, medication preparation, and other tasks. Must lift, bend, and carry supplies of varying weights, often up to and including heavy items.
Ability to walk, assist with ambulation, push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, and navigate crowded or busy rooms. May stand for extended periods. For roles requiring driving, must see, read signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
- Part‑time: 7 PM–3 AM, variable days.
- Rotating holidays and on‑call shifts required.
