Analytical Resource Laboratories (ARL) is a third‑party contract laboratory specializing in microbiological and chemical testing of food, cosmetics, and dietary supplements. ARL has been offering analytical testing services for 23 years. We are looking for a team member with experience in microbiology or closely related fields, who is highly motivated, has great desire to learn, a quick learner, competent, meticulous, tech‑savvy with excellent communication and organizational skills, personable, and proactive individual who is willing to wear multiples hats and embrace a "can‑do" attitude to join our laboratory.
Our team is seeking a team player who can thrive in a fast-paced and high‑pressure work environment to join our robust, hardworking, intelligent, responsible, adaptive, positive, accountable, and amazing team! The successful candidate has the drive to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure work environment. This is an excellent entry‑level position for ambitious individuals to gain valuable experience and grow professionally in a third‑party laboratory industry.
This position would require you to work 3-5 days/workweek, with typical work hours from 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
JOB DESCRIPTION- Assist in processing samples and perform routine and high‑level laboratory testing
- Classify and label samples, according to established protocol
- Maintain proper laboratory records
- Complete sample preparation and testing in a timely manner, according to approved SOPs and correct techniques
- Accountable and responsible for proper laboratory practices
- Demonstrate knowledge and increase training and experience in maintaining analytical instruments
- Comply with all ARL workplace policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations
- Clean and sterilize laboratory workspace and equipment
- Provide support for lab‑specific waste management
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times
- Communicate the status and any issues regarding assigned testing verbally and in writing
- Adhere to all GLP, GMP, and ISO regulations as they pertain to the position’s functions and duties
- Document all activities, results, and report back to supervisor
- Report work progress and state of preparation for testing
- Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices
- Successfully complete all training, including skills and proficiency testing, within required timeframe
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Available to work 2-5 days a week, as assigned by supervisor
- Available to work 10-25 hours per week, from 4:00 pm to the completion of all duties for the day (typically ends at 9:00 pm). Hours and days worked may vary and are negotiable.
- Able to converse fluently in English, verbally and in writing
- Pass all proficiency testing and training courses
- Ability to skillfully adapt to changing demands
- Competency in industry‑specific or industry‑related laboratory techniques and procedures
- Be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Good understanding of laboratory information systems and laboratory equipment
- Abide by ARL’s drug testing, background check, and drug‑free policies
- Follow work schedule and attendance/time off requirements
- Comply with ARL’s values and workplace policies
- Communicate professionally with team members and leadership to resolve any issues
- Contribute to a positive and ethical work environment
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Follow established and proper procedure for conflict resolution
- Able to handle fast‑paced, high‑pressure work demands with confidence and professionalism

- Minimum Education:
High school diploma, and minimal laboratory experience AND currently matriculated in a university while majoring in Microbiology or a closely related field - Strong laboratory training in Life Sciences
- Clear understanding of the importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following approved procedures and laboratory regulations for testing, health, and safety
- Able and willing to work required schedule, including weekends as assigned
