Conducts chemical experiments under direction, generates chemical analysis data, performs structured work assignments, researches organic or inorganic substances, analyzes and tests materials to identify properties for product development or improvement, studies the relationship between chemical and physical properties, and completes technical evaluations of chemicals, reactions or properties.

• Analytical Chemistry – qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic or inorganic compounds, method development, instrumentation.
• Biochemistry – chemical structures, processes and composition in living organisms, reaction studies for life‑function processes.
• Geochemistry – composition, structure and processes of the Earth.
• Inorganic Chemistry – properties of inorganic compounds and materials (metals, oxides, complexes, main‑group and organometallic).
• Nuclear Chemistry – reactions within atomic nuclei, fission/fusion, radionuclide production, ionizing radiation effects.
• Radiochemistry – techniques to study radionuclides, use of radiotracers for chemical, biochemical, biomedical questions.
• Organic Chemistry – structure, properties, composition, reactions and preparation of carbon‑containing compounds.
• Physical Chemistry – behavior of matter at molecular and atomic levels, reaction mechanisms, theory development.

• Generates and evaluates experimental data, prepares data summaries, analyzes technical data against quality objectives.
• Interprets results and writes sections of technical reports.
• Troubleshoots testing when results are unexpected.
• Completes assigned project work within schedule and budget constraints.
• Assists with proposal efforts as needed.
• Interacts primarily with internal clients.
• Modifies existing processes or testing methods to improve quality or efficiency.
• May support business development efforts led by others.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
