Western States Lodging & Management is hiring a strategic and hands‑on Director of Sales to oversee revenue generation and sales direction for a group of hotel properties located in the Point of the Mountain / Lehi, Utah corridor.
This role is well‑suited for a motivated hospitality professional who enjoys building business, leading teams, and driving measurable results across multiple properties in a fast‑growing market.
Position OverviewAs Director of Sales, you will take ownership of market strategy, account development, and overall sales performance for a portfolio of hotels. You'll work closely with property leaders to identify opportunities, strengthen demand, and grow revenue across key segments.
This position blends leadership with active selling and requires someone who can think strategically while staying connected to day‑to‑day sales activity.
What You'll Do Drive Revenue & Business Growth- Create and implement sales strategies tailored to the Point of the Mountain / Silicon Slopes market
- Grow occupancy, average rate, and overall revenue across assigned hotels
- Identify new business opportunities in corporate, group, and extended‑stay segments
- Monitor local demand trends and adjust strategies to stay competitive
- Contribute to annual budgeting and revenue planning processes
- Provide direction and ongoing coaching to property‑level sales associates
- Set clear goals and expectations, and hold teams accountable for results
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of sales talent
- Encourage a positive, results‑focused team environment
- Review weekly and monthly sales activity, pacing, and production
- Analyze reports to identify gaps and opportunities
- Share insights and recommendations with company leadership
- Ensure consistent execution of sales standards across all properties
- Partner with General Managers to align sales efforts with hotel operations
- Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and key accounts
- Represent the portfolio within the Lehi / Draper / Silicon Slopes business community
- Act as a bridge between corporate leadership and on‑property teams
Required:
- Degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of hotel sales experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Proven ability to grow revenue and manage key accounts
- Strong understanding of hotel sales metrics and reporting
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel locally within the market
Preferred:
- Experience overseeing multiple hotel properties
- Familiarity with major hotel brands such as Marriott or Hilton
- Background in revenue management or advanced sales training
