Sr. Firmware Engineer

Zim Zee Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer for our medical device client in Lehi. The ideal engineer with have good experience in designing, developing, and implementing firmware for embedded systems. The candidate should have hands-on experience with PCB and Microcontroller platforms such as ARM and PIC

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 3-5+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development
• Good understanding of embedded software architectural concepts and the symbiotic relationship between firmware and hardware
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience, including strong hands-on expertise in RTOS and bare-metal development, along with a solid background in embedded systems engineering.
• Strong work ethic who is adaptable, confident, and a collaborative team player.
• Hybrid Scrum framework that includes stand-ups and daily status reporting.
• Excellent communication and writing skills are essential
• Strong background in hardware.
• Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies, especially in the context of embedded systems
• Proven experience with source control systems, preferably Git

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement firmware for embedded systems using C/C++
• Leverage electronics lab equipment to develop and troubleshoot low-level drivers and ensure seamless hardware integration for interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end system functionality and robustness
• Maintain and enhance existing codebases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
• Utilize and promote best practices for software development, testing, and QA methodologies
