Software Engineer – Data Platform

This role focuses on building and scaling a large‑scale data platform at Ancestry to support business intelligence and data services.

• Be a critical part of the data platform team, scaling and validating the data platform to meet Ancestry’s data growth.
• Develop, deploy, and support real‑time automated systems for streamlining data lifecycle management.
• Deploy Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation) to provide infrastructure for data pipelines.

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with Java and a framework such as Spring Boot in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Big Data ecosystems, including Spark and Kafka.
• Proficiency with database technologies such as MySQL (Aurora), Redshift or equivalent.
• Experience with Terraform, Cloud Formation, or other IaC tools.
• RESTful web service development experience.
• Good familiarity with AWS AI tools and AWS Cloud automated deployments.
• Experience with data pipeline architecture and scaling.

Base salary range: $94,610.00 ‑ $. Eligible for bonus, equity and comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits. Final compensation will vary based on geographic region and experience.
