Senior Design Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Design Engineer with a genuine eye for detail. Day-to-day, you'll be building React components and UI features — translating complex financial interfaces into clean, robust code that gets things exactly right.

You care about the details. The spacing, the interaction, the edge case that nobody else noticed — that's the kind of thing that matters to you, and it shows in your work.

• Build React components and UI features across our web products, working closely from design specs
• Contribute to and maintain Aave's component library and design system
• Work with designers to understand intent — and proactively find resolutions when something doesn't translate cleanly into our systems
• Write clean, consistent Type Script and CSS that other engineers enjoy working with
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure components are performant, accessible, and reusable

• Strong frontend engineering skills — React/Next.js and Type Script are your day-to-day, and you're comfortable working at pace
• Proficiency with SCSS modules and a solid understanding of CSS fundamentals
• Experience working with or contributing to component libraries and design systems
• A genuine eye for detail — you notice when spacing is off, when something doesn't match the spec, or when an interaction feels slightly wrong
• Comfortable collaborating with designers and asking the right questions when translating designs to code

• Curiosity about web3 and DeFi is a nice‑to‑have — we're happy to bring you up to speed if the space is new to you
• Curiosity about AI and it's use in product design and daily workflows
