Mobile Software Development Engineer – Memories Team

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of the Memories applications
• Work directly in Xcode and Android Studio, reading, debugging, and modifying existing Swift and Kotlin code
• Own mobile performance and scalability across devices, operating-system versions, and network conditions
• Manage release trains, staged rollouts, feature flags, and App Store and Google Play submissions
• Establish mobile standards for testing, code review, and continuous integration
• Mentor engineers with web expertise who are newer to mobile development
• Partner with UX on platform-appropriate design patterns
• Produce and release quality mobile applications through the App Store and Google Play
• Identify errors in native code using AI tools

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
• Six years of progressive relevant professional experience
• Strong understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies and principles
• Experience across primary areas of an n-tier enterprise system, including interface, domain logic, and database layers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to mentor and train peers
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving ability under pressure
• Strong engineering/programming, analytical/diagnostic/troubleshooting, web technology, and programming methodology skills
• Solid understanding of systems and subsystems
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and services
• Strong understanding of Dev Sec Ops
• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles
• Advanced knowledge of applicable software, computer languages, and code
• Aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages
• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
• Preferred:
  Fluency in Swift and Kotlin, and comfort working in Xcode and Android Studio
• Preferred:
  Command of the platform layer and related tradeoffs
• Preferred:
  Experience building scalable applications with strong performance, reliability, and offline behavior
• Preferred:
  Consistent practice of building accessible experiences
• Preferred:
  Testing experience from unit through end-to-end automation
• Preferred:
  Fluency with AI coding tools and judgment when reviewing AI-generated native code
• Ability to meet physical requirements such as sitting for long periods and using computer monitors/equipment

Demonstrates expertise in mobile application architecture and delivery, with a strong command of Swift and Kotlin for iOS and Android development. Proficient in Agile methodologies, Dev Sec Ops  practices, and continuous integration/delivery principles, while also mentoring peers and ensuring high-quality mobile applications.
