Job SummaryWe are seeking a Certified Medical Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will gather and document information about patients for their doctors’ visits. Responsibilities include printing lab reports, completing summaries of treatment sessions, charting doctor’s appointments, creating labs and imaging orders, creating and processing prescriptions authorizations, DME orders, long term process, referrals all under provider supervision and operating electronic health records.
Phlebotomistduties
- Verifying patient identity:
Ensuring they have the correct patient before drawing blood. - Explaining the procedure:
Informing the patient about the process and answering any questions they may have. - Preparing the site:
Cleaning and sterilizing the area from which blood will be drawn. - Performing venipuncture:
Skillfully inserting a needle into a vein to collect blood samples. - Labeling and handling samples:
Properly labeling blood tubes with patient information and ensuring they are handled and stored correctly. - Maintaining equipment:
Keeping tools and workstations clean and organized. - Monitoring patient reactions:
Observing patients for any adverse reactions during or after the blood draw. - Adhering to safety protocols:
Following strict safety guidelines to prevent the spread of infection and ensure patient and personal safety. - Documentation:
Recording information related to the blood draw in patient records.
The candidate for the position must be bilingual (English-Spanish) fluently. Experience 1 to 3 years required. Prefer experience with EHR Practice Fusion. Prefer experience in Primary Care Practice. We will not be accepting any candidate without prior experience in the medical field.
Responsibilities- Documenting patients’ visits by taking chief complains, patient's vitals and entering them in the electronic health records system
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and comprehensive patient documentation
- Coordinate with doctors to complete and submit medical records
- Coordinate with doctors to create lab and imaging orders, also creating the referrals to specialist
- Communicate professionally with patients, doctors, and healthcare staff
- Complete administrative tasks as requested, including assisting patient with the kiosk.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar position
- Phlebotomist certificate
- Ability to take detailed notes and accurate documentation
- Strong computer and transcription skills
- Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements
- Highly organized with excellent time-management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
