We are looking for a skilled and motivated Fabricator / Marine Engineer to join our growing team, specialising in the construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of narrow boats.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and wants to work on unique and rewarding projects.
Responsibilities- Fabricate, weld, and repair steel narrow boat hulls and structures.
- Carry out engine installations, servicing, repairs, and fault finding.
- Install and maintain propulsion systems, stern gear, and associated mechanical components.
- Perform general fabrication work, including bespoke steelwork and modifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and provide effective repair solutions.
- Work to high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure projects are completed on time and to customer expectations.
Experience in fabrication and MIG welding (marine or structural steelwork preferred). With mechanical engineering experience, ideally with diesel engines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. That can use strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Previous experience working on narrow boats, canal boats, or other marine vessels. Relevant engineering or welding qualifications.
