About the Role

With a fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel, electric, LCVs, and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. Royal Mail is modernising its fleet, giving you the opportunity to work on a variety of makes and models. This role offers a full range of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures on vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• Use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair on light/heavy goods vehicles.
• Access specialist tooling and shared equipment in a modern, fully equipped workshop.

• Level 3 qualified mechanic in Light or Heavy vehicle (or equivalent).
• Own personal toolkit for standard repairs.
• Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles (LCV/HGV).
• Full manual UK driving licence.
• High working standards and pride in quality work.
• Flexible to service demands and able to support the team where necessary.

Full time – 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern: week 1 & 2: 06:00 – 14:30, week 3: 13:30 – 22:00). 1 in 3 Saturdays required with a weekday day off. Salary: £40,906 plus a shift allowance of £90.21 per week when working 13:30 – 22:00. Weekend supplement on Saturday (£53.66 per shift). Eligible for a welcome bonus of £1,500.
