Weekly pay via Quest Employment Quest Employment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established public-sector organisation for experienced HGV / Vehicle Mechanics to join their busy vehicle maintenance operation in Croft, Leicester . This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic with experience working on HGVs, 7.5-tonne vehicles, commercial vehicles or a range of council/public-service vehicles.

The Role As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a varied fleet of vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable and compliant with relevant standards. Your duties will include:
Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance. Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs efficiently. Working on HGVs, 7.5-tonne vehicles and other commercial/council vehicles. Inspecting vehicles to identify defects and safety issues. Carrying out mechanical repairs and component replacements. Using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools where required. Completing maintenance records and relevant vehicle documentation. Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety procedures.

Supporting the wider workshop team to maintain fleet availability. Essential Qualifications & Experience Candidates must have a relevant recognised vehicle maintenance qualification, ideally at Level 3 or equivalent , such as:
City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair IMI Level 3 or equivalent automotive/HGV maintenance qualification Previous experience as an HGV, LGV, commercial vehicle or fleet mechanic is essential. Experience working on 7.5-tonne vehicles, HGVs, commercial vehicles or public-sector/council fleets would be highly advantageous. A relevant HGV/LGV driving licence would be desirable but is not essential unless required for the specific duties of the role.

Additional industry-recognised qualifications or accreditations, such as IRTEC , would be advantageous. What We're Looking For We're looking for mechanics who are:
