Overview
StemX Bio is an early‑stage biotech located in Leiden Bio Science Park. We grow 3D human pancreatic microtissues that provide drug developers with a human‑relevant model for drug discovery and gene‑therapy validation. Our customers are pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and CROs. We are looking for a Business Developer to help grow the commercial side from first outreach to signed pilot projects, while also conducting market research and shaping business strategy.
Responsibilities- Run market research and competitor analysis to sharpen targeting and positioning.
- Qualify and follow up on inbound and outbound leads across pharma, biotech and CROs.
- Conduct account research and outbound outreach against the target list.
- Keep the CRM accurate and the pipeline moving.
- Prepare proposals, quotes and follow‑ups for pilot studies.
- Contribute to the business plan, commercial strategy and financial forecasts.
- Represent StemX at conferences and events: book meetings, prepare, and follow up after each one.
- 1–3years of experience in a commercial, business‑development or sales role; life‑sciences experience is a strong plus.
- Self‑starter who enjoys outreach and following through.
- Comfortable with market research and numbers, from competitor analysis to business planning and forecasting.
- Completed degree, ideally a Master’s (WO) in a life‑sciences or business field.
- Background or genuine interest in life sciences or biotech.
- Confident communicator in English, comfortable with both scientists and buyers.
- Gross salary with 8% Dutch holiday allowance, paid monthly.
- 25 paid vacation days per year at full time, above the Dutch statutory minimum of 20.
- All Dutch public holidays are paid days off.
- Commute reimbursement at €0.23 per km (up to 70km one way), paid as a fixed monthly amount.
- Hands‑on mentoring from an experienced commercial team and room to grow into owning your own accounts.
We do not sponsor visas for this role. You must have the right to work in the Netherlands: EU/EEA/Swiss nationals or a valid Dutch residence or work permit such as an orientation‑year permit. You can work on‑site at Leiden Bio Science Park, with up to one day per week from home.
