Paye Rate: £23-£24

Search Recruitment are currently looking for experienced Stonemasons to join a busy project in the EH6 area of Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled tradespeople to secure ongoing work on a city-centre project with a well-established contractor.
The role will involve a range of traditional and restoration masonry works, including stone dressing, repointing, and the formation of new openings within existing stone structures. Applicants should have previous experience working on heritage, conservation, or stone restoration projects and be confident working to a high standard of workmanship. Stonemasons typically carry out stone dressing, repairs, restoration and installation work on construction and conservation projects.

Duties Include:

* Dressing and shaping stone to specification

* Repointing existing stonework using appropriate mortars

* Creating and altering openings in existing masonry structures

* Carrying out stone repairs and replacements

* Reading and interpreting drawings and site instructions

* Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Stonemason

* Strong background in stone restoration, conservation, or heritage works preferred

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Valid CSCS card

* Own tools and PPE

* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
