Maravai Life Sciences is seeking a #Miracle Maker to join our Custom Development team as an Associate Scientist, Biochemistry. The Associate Scientist is responsible for lab bench sample preparation, chromatography, large format 2D-electrophoresis, spot counting, LC-MS, data analysis, and report writing and review. Demonstrated working knowledge of lab-based research, method development, testing, custom services life science or pharmaceutical industrial application is preferred.
The Senior Lab Technician will execute protocols under the direct supervision of the Director.
- Receive, label, store, and report customer samples.
- Perform chromatography of customer samples via FPLC and 2D-PAGE.
- Analyze 2D-PAGE data with spot counting software and write reports.
- Author SOPs and develop new data analysis tools.
- Maintain lab instruments and consumable steady state levels.
- Maintain sample inventory and defrost refrigerators and freezers.
- Dispose of hazardous chemicals in compliance with EHS.
- Place purchase orders via ERP software.
- Record data in lab notebooks and data binders.
- Present data at lab meetings.
- Perform buffer exchange and sample concentrations.
- Develop and optimize workflows.
- Prepare LC solvents in scheduled intervals.
- Perform Mass Spectrometer calibrations.
- Perform Proteomics sample preparation for Mass Spectrometry projects.
- Prepare Mass Spectrometry operation standards and assess control performance against acceptance criteria.
- Perform other functions and duties as required.
- Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry or similar Life Science
- BS and 2 years of experience
- AS and 4 years of experience
- Experience documenting work in laboratory notebooks; GLP/GDP experience a plus.
- Experience running FPLC, HPLC, UHPLC, or LC-MS
- Executing protocols and analyzing data a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products;
PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
