Frozen Food Clerk

Overview

The Frozen Food Clerk is responsible for keeping all store frozen cases stocked and clean during business hours. They are required to assist customers as needed while maintaining a friendly, energetic demeanor. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Frozen Department.

• Ensures cleanliness of frozen cases, storage area, and work area for safety.
• Stocks frozen cases, presenting product, facing, filling, and organizing as set by departmental schematics and ensuring tag and pricing accuracy.
• Examines the rotation of frozen products, paying particular attention to expired stock and discarding outdated or spoiled items.
• Responds positively to customer inquiries and assists with purchases, information, and product selection; sells and cross‑sells products.
• Receives, inspects, and logs products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
• Monitors point‑of‑purchase signs and ensures a variety of recipe cards, coupons, promotional material, and information on complimentary foods.
• Operates equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Maintains a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
• Walks the department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and clean appearance at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred 1–2 years of grocery retail experience in a frozen department.
• Maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
• Support and contribute to team goals.
• Have basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Requires vertically/horizontally transferring boxes/crates weighing 40–60 lbs. from 5–72 in. or 62–9 in. for up to 10 ft. for 6–50 h without mechanical assistance; use a pallet jack to move 500–1,000 lbs. requiring 25–50 lb. force over 15–50 ft. for 5–50 h; upper body forces up to 10 lb. for up to 1 h; coupling forces of 50–60 lb. for up to 10 h; use a 2‑step stool to access shelves up to 1 step per 8 h;

repeatedly bend/squat to access a point 5 in. from the floor for up to 30 h; stand continuously for up to 4 h per shift (8 h total); work in controlled temperatures, coolers/freezers; vision required for order, stock, and inventory of dairy products; walk up to 3 mi per 8 h.

The pay range for this position is $17.15–$22.30 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications.
