Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Operations – Field Service Engineer (FSE)We’re seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented, self‑starter with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to represent the P&W Team at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA as a Field Service Engineer (FSE). This is a customer‑facing role in a high‑visibility, team‑oriented environment.
What You Will Do- Support F-35C/F135 operations to include systems, tooling, material, and processes. The FSE will have hands‑on interaction with the engine (software and hardware), aircraft, and squadron personnel. With support from Systems CSE, the FSE will use JTD, VCD, and ARs to review conditional HRCs, determine correct solutions, and make recommendations.
- Ensure comprehensive reporting on support activities including aircraft and engine status, flight reports, operational data, engine configuration status and parts consumption.
- Work closely with internal P&W teams (Customer Support Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Center, ALIS teams) to assist current and future Navy Fighter‑Attack Squadrons, the Fleet Readiness Center West and NAWDC (NAS Fallon) in troubleshooting and resolution of emerging customer issues and maintain flexibility to resolve constantly changing customer priorities.
- Use self‑initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations to determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between P&W, the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, and Lockheed Martin. The representative will be responsible for coordinating field issues with the local P&W team, Engineering, and Logistics Program Management.
- Comply with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and participate in Customer Oriented Results & Excellence (CORE) initiatives.
- Candidate must have the ability to travel for extended periods of time to support customer deployments. Domestic and International Travel, as well as Shipboard Operations are required and part of the team concept. Must have the ability to rotate shift schedules as required to meet customer support and team objectives.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required in an engineering or related technical field. Non‑technical degrees will be considered if the candidate has appropriate/related experience; or, an Associate’s degree or 2‑year post‑high‑school training and 9 years of engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support is required. This includes supply chain management and support equipment management.
- A minimum of 5+ years (with degree, 9+ without) of professional experience in engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support, including supply chain management and support equipment management.
- Candidate must possess a US Govt. Secret Clearance or have the ability to secure one for position requirements. Candidates that have had a clearance that has recently lapsed (not more than 2 years), may apply for consideration.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Background in ITAR/ITC is desired for this assignment.
- Experience on the F135 engine and associated programs to include Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)/OBPHM.
- Knowledge of turbine engine theory and operation.
- Familiarity with USN aviation operations/structures.
The salary range is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs, depending on level and agreement terms.
