Tools and Parts Attendant – NAMCE
Location: NAS Lemoore
Purpose and Scope: Responsible for inspecting, issuing, training personnel, and performing tool room work on customer provided tools, IMRL, ground support equipment, contract units, sub‑systems, and support equipment.
Responsibilities- Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment.
- Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed.
- Unpacks and stores new equipment; visually inspects tools or measures with a micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn‑out equipment to superiors.
- Coats tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and attaches identification tags or engraves identifying information on tools and equipment using an electric marking tool.
- Supports customer and contract tasks associated with this position, enforces company policy and procedures to ensure a safe and high‑level customer service work environment, and reports incidents and makes recommendations to the Program Supervisor.
- Works well with others and independently, predicated on the scope and complexity of operations; full flexibility regarding working hours.
- High school graduate or equivalent is desirable. Five (5) years actual and recent systems experience desired.
- Must have knowledge of general hand tools.
- Knowledge of ground support equipment desired.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Government security clearance. Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 US Government Clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a Tier 3 Clearance.
Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, exposed to disagreeable fumes, cuts, bruises from using tools in close placement and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear. Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 40‑45 pounds and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, vibration, wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock.
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe. A high level of safety awareness and compliance is expected.
Hourly rate: $27.16 per hour. Plus $8.10 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, for Health & Welfare.
