Position: Quality Assurance Inspector, F-35 - Level 4

Start your new and rewarding career with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) Team as a Quality Inspector on our F‑35 Program! This position is part of the Quality Management team supporting F‑35 aircraft Interim Contractor Support (ICS) maintenance operations at NAS Lemoore located at Lemoore, California.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspection functions on maintenance, ALIS and any other entities that support the contract to ensure compliance with applicable government and company processes and procedures, aircraft workbook specifications and engineering drawings/technical data.
  • Approve or reject work accomplished by team members.
  • Assist with Environmental, Safety, Health (ESH) requirements as needed.
  • Conduct Entrant Authority (EA) actions as required.
  • Conduct inspection of aircraft component removal/replacement; scheduled and unscheduled maintenance;
    Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) execution and aircraft ground handling/servicing.
  • Evaluate process compliance, write/review Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) reports, perform root‑cause analysis and validate quality plans, processes, and responses.
  • Identify and understand non‑conformities as they relate to Safety‑of‑Flight and Critical Task List inspections, procedural breakdowns, and program (process) audits.
  • Assist with incident and/or mishap investigation audits and prepare quality documentation/reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, trends including failed process, recalls, corrective actions, and validations.
  • Assist with review and revisions to interim contract operating instructions.
Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive movements, working overhead, using hands to grasp, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist. Confined Space Entry and extended work hours may also be required.

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 6‑8 years of recent military aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Minimum USMC/USN Level 4 MATMEP and/or Level 3000 T/R rating (QAR/CDQAR) or USAF 7‑Level skill rating.
  • Experience with the inspection of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE/GSE);
    Hazardous Waste Management programs;
    Tool & FOD industry standards; equipment calibration procedures.
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
  • 1‑2 years of 5th Generation (F‑35, F‑22) Fighter Aircraft experience in Modification, Maintenance and/or Quality Assurance roles.
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Working knowledge of Action Requests (AR).
  • Familiar with DCMA Instruction 8210.1C associated in aircraft ground operations and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience with OPNAV 4790 Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) instructions.
  • Experience with Process Control Surveillance Program inspections and associated database.
  • Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) AS9110 internal audit processes.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with Aircraft Managers/Supervisors, Field Service Reps, System Engineers, Maintenance Logistics Support Managers, Customer (DCMA/GCQA), COR/QAE and maintainers regarding quality issues, Instrumentation System Integration, Deficiency Analysis/Reporting, customer complaints, and other issues related to higher quality as they occur.
  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings/instructions; system schematics/blueprints; and technical policy/maintenance instructions.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2010).
