Grocery Clerk - Multi-Department Specialist

Multi-Purpose Clerk - Bakery/Deli - 105 W. Hanford-Armona Rd., Lemoore, CA 93245

We are currently recruiting for the position of Multi-Purpose Clerk - Bakery/Deli.

The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store – including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, Janitorial, or Pharmacy. The Clerk promotes sales, answers customer questions, processes special orders, practices safe food handling procedures, maintains a clean work area, and performs other duties as assigned.

• Center Store/Front End – Operate the check stand, memorize PLU codes, manage inventory, and perform Point-of-Sale and inventory activities.
• Produce – Receive, inspect, log products, trim/wash/prepare produce, stock and rotate to maintain freshness, and maintain the floral area.
• Meat/Seafood – Receive, inspect, log products, weigh/wrap/package, label, stock, provide customer service at the seafood counter, take special orders, operate equipment such as slicers and wrappers, and keep the department clean.
• Bakery/Deli – Receive, inspect, log products, prepare, weigh, package, label, stock, and rotate baked goods and deli items, take special orders for cakes and party trays, operate equipment such as ovens, proofers, slicers, mixers, and maintain cleanliness.
• Janitorial – Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store, sweep/mop, clean restrooms, break room, office areas, shelving, front-end equipment, and parking lot, and operate equipment such as scrubbers and buffers.
• Pharmacy – Operate the pharmacy register, handle prescriptions, maintain cleanliness and confidentiality, and perform other pharmacy duties.
• Duties common to all departments – Sweep/mop sales floor, operate forklift or baler if authorized, and perform other duties as assigned.

• At least 18 years of age.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible on the job.

High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or equivalent job experience.

Six months of related experience.

Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.

Requires standing and frequent physical movements; lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

Hiring pay range: $17.15 - $26.20.
