Position: Aircraft Mechanic III (23023)

Aircraft Mechanic III – NAS Lemoore

The Aircraft Mechanic III serves as a lead technician and team supervisor, overseeing all aspects of aircraft maintenance, inspection, and repair in support of VFA-125 operations at NAS Lemoore. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership ability, and a thorough understanding of complex airframe and power plant systems to ensure aircraft mission readiness and compliance with Navy maintenance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise maintenance teams performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft repairs.
  • Oversee and inspect the work of Aircraft Mechanic I and II personnel to ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft structures, flight control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and engines.
  • Interpret blueprints, manufacturers’ manuals, and engineering data to resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to both mechanics and engineering personnel.
  • Maintain and certify aircraft maintenance documentation, records, and daily logs.
  • Ensure adherence to all Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) procedures and contract specifications.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical or military aviation training preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of aircraft maintenance experience with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of airframe and power plant systems, structural repairs, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency with specialized tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, test equipment, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage workloads, and meet scheduled maintenance objectives.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred but not required.
  • U.S. citizenship required per government contract regulations.
