The HVAC Technician will service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems. This role requires strong technical ability, excellent customer communication, and the ability to use technology such as tablets, CRM systems, meters, gauges, and diagnostic tools. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced technician who can work independently, represent the company professionally, and help customers understand their options.
The right person will be able to diagnose problems accurately, communicate clearly, and work with the sales team when equipment replacement or larger opportunities are identified.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Use meters, gauges, and other diagnostic tools to accurately identify system issues
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and service work according to company standards and industry best practices
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners and clients
- Educate customers on system condition, repair options, maintenance needs, and comfort solutions
- Identify equipment replacement or upgrade opportunities when appropriate
- Connect customers with the sales team when larger equipment opportunities are identified
- Use tablets, CRM systems, and other technology to document work, update job information, and communicate with the team
- Follow company processes for service calls, documentation, customer communication, and follow-up
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area, vehicle, and appearance
- Represent Shaw's Home Comfort with professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first mindset
- Work safely and follow all applicable codes, standards, and company procedures
- Support a positive team culture through reliability, communication, and accountability
- 4+ years of HVAC service, repair, troubleshooting, or installation experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems required
- Light commercial HVAC experience is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot systems using meters, gauges, and diagnostic tools
- Strong customer communication skills and a professional presence in the home
- Ability to explain technical issues and options in a clear, honest, and helpful way
- Sales awareness and ability to identify appropriate equipment or service opportunities
- Comfortable using tablets, CRM systems, dispatch software, and other technology
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required for operating company vehicles.
- EPA Section 608 Certification preferred (required prior to independently servicing refrigerant systems).
