Accounting Manager

Our manufacturing client in Kansas City seeks an Accounting Manager that will play a key role and oversight of monthly reporting, cost accounting and budgeting for capital projects.

Must be able to work a hybrid work schedule and be in office as needed.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, monthly and quarterly close process, and prepare internal financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports and costing audits.
• Put together and implement cost accounting procedures and methods.
• Assemble analysis and explanations in response to costing queries.
• Identify variances in standard versus actual costs from analysis.
• Review and analyze capital spend and budgets, and project costs.
• Analyze financial and operational data.
• Oversight of AP, AR, billing, and purchase orders.
• Assist with HR responsibilities and office management tasks.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance.
• Communicate and build partnerships with project team and internal partners.

• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge with GAAP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with all levels of staff and build partnerships.
• Strong work ethic, adaptability, and ability to produce high-quality work in a dynamic environment.
• Process-oriented with a willingness to tackle challenges, design and implement process improvements, and independently solve problems.
