Smith & Loveless is united under one cause: “Protecting Water. Protecting People.” We are seeking an Assistant Buyer PART-TIME to partner with our experienced purchasing team in this environmentally focused industry.

• Assist with product selection and sourcing.
• Help manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate records of purchases.
• Monitor inventory levels and provide recommendations for reordering products to prevent shortages.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any product discrepancies or issues.
• Maintain and update product catalogs, pricing, and other related documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of reports on purchasing activities, inventory, and sales trends.
• Other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.

• Must be able to commit to work at least 20 hrs/wk from Lenexa, KS year-round.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent. Some college preferred.
• Previous experience in a purchasing or office administrative position preferred, but not required.
• Must possess strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Have well developed problem-solving skills, time-management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Reach with hands and arms.
• Required to talk and hear consistently.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or drag up to twenty-five (25) pounds if necessary.
• Ability to ascend and descend two (2) flights of stairs.
