Position SummaryThe Receptionist/Office Assistant, Adult Education & Literacy supports JCCC's mission by serving as the primary administrative and operational link for adult education programs. This role delivers excellent customer service through student intake and registration for ABE, GED, and ESL courses, while directly assisting instructors with outreach and classroom materials. Additionally, the position ensures program compliance and funding integrity by managing confidential records and tracking data in state systems, handles basic bookkeeping and event coordination for leadership, and communicates vital facility safety protocols to maintain a secure learning environment.
Required Qualifications- Requires a High School Diploma and 3+ years of related experience.
- Greet the public and provide program information (phone and in person) regarding enrollment and participation in ABE/GED/ELL classes.
- Assist with safety, security, and emergency preparedness procedures and communicate logistics relating to safety, security, and facilities needs.
- Assist classroom instructors with student outreach, classroom materials, and information and ensure the availability of supplies and printed materials for instructors.
- Provide support to instructors and track student attendance hours and other required data for the purpose of monitoring and reporting to maintain financial funding.
- Assist with data entry and verification into a state database and perform file organization and maintenance utilizing secure protocols working with confidential records.
- Register students for classes, accept payments, and apply standard bookkeeping procedures.
- Provide support to JCAE leadership through ad hoc project coordination, process document production, event planning, data system maintenance, document creation, and collaboration with overall management for quality outcomes.
