General ResponsibilitiesThe Marketing Research Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive market, client, and competitor research to support strategic business decisions across the organization. This role uses both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to provide insights that guide marketing strategy, regional planning, business development initiatives, and opportunity identification. The analyst collaborates closely with marketing, operations leadership, and client development teams to deliver high‑quality analysis and reporting aligned with Terracon’s business goals.
EssentialRoles And Responsibilities
- Market & Client Research
- Conduct research to build detailed profiles of existing and target clients, analyzing their priorities, challenges, and buying behaviors.
- Assess target markets, estimate market size, and identify key sector drivers, challenges, and opportunities.
- Perform ad‑hoc secondary market research as requested by regional or sector leadership.
- Lead opportunity identification and qualification efforts, researching and tracking public and private sector pursuits through CIP programs, Dodge, procurement portals, and other industry lead sources.
- Competitive Intelligence
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of Terracon’s competitors across sectors.
- Monitor trends and industry changes that influence competitive positioning and client needs.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze client, market, and sales/volume data to identify emerging trends and patterns.
- Interpret findings and translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing and regional leadership teams.
- Experience working with large or complex data sets.
- Strategic Support
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop market research plans addressing regional or sector‑specific challenges.
- Lead or support strategic opportunity analyses to guide business development and pursuit strategy.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, client development, and operational leaders to ensure research findings are integrated into business planning.
- Support pursuit efforts with data‑driven insights and intelligence on clients, competitors, and markets.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Proposal and SOQ Support
- Support pursuit strategy and proposal development, contributing market research, competitive intelligence, written content, graphics coordination, and quality control for SOQs, proposals, and interview materials.
- Develop and maintain regional marketing collateral, supporting the full marketing mix—including pursuits, digital marketing initiatives, and brand awareness efforts—aligned with firm standards and client expectations.
- Own CRM data integrity and adoption, ensuring pursuits and business development activities are entered accurately and on time, while communicating CRM value and best practices across office teams.
