Position Summary

The Site Superintendent III is responsible for the day‑to‑day field operations of a construction site, including site logistics planning, workforce safety compliance, maintaining and updating the schedule, enforcing job‑site rules, developing professional client relationships, and overseeing the completion of the project. The role requires understanding all contract documents, maintaining order, cleanliness, and efficiencies to produce a best‑in‑class client experience, and leading projects from mobilization through completion and demobilization.

The Site Superintendent III reports conflicts or potential disputes to the Construction Manager for quick resolution and may manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in creating the final schedule with subcontractors, suppliers, internal scheduling staff, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Provide input on the schedule of values and update project completion percentages of all activities for billing purposes.
  • Police all site logistics for maximum efficiency and ensure client operations are never interrupted.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Director to maintain strict compliance with the organization’s safety plan.
  • Direct overall site management of assigned construction projects.
  • Plan and set project schedule objectives, goals, and deadlines.
  • Review and select appropriate construction methods and strategies.
  • Report on status and progress of project and budget matters to the supervisor.
  • Facilitate the execution of the project field installation phase.
  • Produce and maintain all required project documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate work for project staff, ensuring labor continuity during disruptions or threats of disruption.
  • Provide ample communication to the client to keep the project schedule on track during disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the client to accommodate union and/or non‑union labor dispute resolution.
  • Implement and maintain the organization’s quality control plan for the project.
  • Communicate any quality concerns to the Construction Manager and collaborate to develop action plans.
  • Implement action plans without disrupting the schedule unless agreed to by the client.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; graduate of an applicable trade school preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of field construction supervision experience as a superintendent, foreman, or similar role.
  • OSHA 30‑hour certification required.
  • CPR/First‑Aid certification required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, including development and oversight of field crews.
  • Thorough understanding of federal, multi‑state, and local construction safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with construction industry practices, quality control processes, and standards.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, persuasion, assertiveness, and managerial courage.
  • Ability to establish and foster effective professional relationships with employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑management skills.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described in this job description.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to navigate various settings, including on‑site projects.
  • Capacity for prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
