Operations Manager, Civil Engineering, Site Manager
Location:
Traveling/Project Sites Across the U.S.
Provide overall leadership and direction to field operations on assigned projects
Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
Manage site logistics, subcontractor performance, inspections, and construction sequencing.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and Engineers to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals.
Conduct weekly foremen meetings and lead pre-installation and critical path planning sessions.
Develop, manage, and distribute detailed 3-week look-ahead schedules in coordination with the master project schedule.
Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes and documentation.
Lead project close-out efforts, including punch list completion, turnover documentation, and warranty planning.
Mentor, coach, and evaluate field staff, promoting career development and performance excellence.
Serve as a senior resource in resolving complex field issues and adapting to changing site conditions.
Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.
Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.
Other duties as assigned.
What You BringBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field AND 15+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the construction of Federal projects is strongly preferred.
Partnership approach to working with contractors, designers and clients.
MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills
Proficiency in MS Project
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team
Self-motivation with good time management skills
OSHA-30 certification required.
Travel is required
Physical RequirementsAbility to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
Exposure to all outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
Use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Exposure to confined spaces as part of job site conditions.
Exposure to high noise levels typical of job sites.
TravelFull-time U.S. travel with home every other weekend.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
