Position SummaryThe Sr Project Manager oversees the most complex initiatives and ensures compliance with design, budget, and schedule. They have full project financial responsibility, including budget, profit and cost projections. The leader contributes to design as needed and coordinates all field activities with the facility and the owner to ensure operations are not interrupted. The employee manages projects from assessment through design, bidding, and installation, while keeping the client informed and satisfied.
In addition, the employee negotiates with subcontractors, maintains client relationships, and ensures a safe work environment with an emphasis on building and maintaining a high level of respect and rapport with both clients, colleagues and engineering partners.
- Direct overall management of construction projects.
- Plan and set project objectives, goals, and deadlines.
- Select appropriate construction methods and strategies.
- Schedule and coordinate processes so that projects meet design specifications.
- Report on status and progress of project and budget matters to clients.
- Facilitate the execution of the project installation phase.
- Produce or acquire and maintain all required project documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Prepare layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Make recommendations as to the feasibility of systems and/or equipment and evaluate construction products for their application.
- Plan logistical aspects of project execution so that plans can be properly incorporated into the project documents.
- Assist in the assembly and distribution of equipment and construction bid packages.
- Ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Verify contractors are meeting and practicing all required OSHA and industry-approved safety standards.
- Coordinate with facility and the contractor to ensure facility operations are not interrupted.
- Obtain required licenses/permits, confer with city or county inspectors, and ensure compliance of legal requirements, company regulations, and building and safety codes.
- Assist in the development of accurate budgets for all projects and clients that reflect all costs associated with construction.
- Manage the planning, materials, building, and budget of construction projects.
- Negotiate and provide cost estimates for construction work and associated change orders.
- Protect the best interest of the client and preserve/enhance the reputation and bottom line of the company.
- Assist with business development activities by promoting Henderson to existing and potential clients.
- Participate in client, company and industry events.
- Grow personal network by building relationships with clients and industry professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of construction or engineering preferred. Common examples include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management.
- Years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of requisite education.
- Ten (10) or greater years of relevant experience required in construction and the design of building systems.
- Project management, estimating, field installation, and installation supervision experience required.
- OSHA certifications required.
- Advanced project management skills.
- Technical expertise in primary fields of focus (mechanical and/or electrical) as well as familiarity with other related fields.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and to recommend and analyze pragmatic solutions for clients.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards relating to the facilities in which we work.
- Possesses efficient communication skills.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills specifically within Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.
- Adapts to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs.
- Generates ideas for improvement, takes advantage of opportunities, and suggests innovations.
