Location: Lenexa, KS 66215 (Kansas City Metro Area)

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus based on experience

A well‑established and growing commercial electrical contractor is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This position offers the opportunity to work on high‑profile commercial construction projects while playing a critical role in securing and supporting successful project execution.

The ideal candidate will have experience estimating commercial electrical projects, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project management, operations, vendors, and clients.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Review project drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scope requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Develop accurate and competitive bid proposals
• Identify project risks, assumptions, and clarifications during the estimating process
• Assist with budgeting, conceptual estimating, and value engineering initiatives
• Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoff after award
• Support preconstruction activities and client pricing requests

• 2+ years of Electrical Estimating experience within commercial construction
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and bid packages
• Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
• Strong understanding of labor productivity and material pricing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Trimble Accubid, Accubid Anywhere, Live Count, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered
