    8:00 am – 4:30 pm CST
  • Training:
    Approximately 9 weeks mandatory onsite (including sandboxing); no time off during training
  • Wage:
    Transaction Processing Associate III $17.25 /hr (may be below state minimum wage);
    Bilingual $17.75 /hr (may be below state minimum wage)

Job Description

As part of the Kan Care Clearinghouse Program, the Transaction Processing Associate III (ES) will gather thorough documentation and enter information into various systems.

Essential Duties
  • Analyze initial applications and supporting documentation for Family Medical programs to determine eligibility for federal and state medical assistance.
  • Investigate applicant circumstances using available computer systems (databases, registries, informational deposits), researching records to provide information on household income, resources, and expenses.
  • Enter household information and authorize eligibility within the Kansas Economic and Enforcement System (KEES); complete determinations using state and federal regulations.
  • Document eligibility decisions in the electronic case journal and send system‑based and manual correspondence to customers and representatives explaining results and appeal rights.
  • Use knowledge of state eligibility processes, policies, and procedures governing managed care enrollment to communicate with consumers.
  • Attend training to develop and enhance understanding of Kansas Medicaid eligibility programs and to build expertise in additional determination categories.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills or Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care programs.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in determining Long‑Term Care, Elderly and Disabled, or Family Medical eligibility.
  • Successfully complete KDHE Eligibility Training and sandboxing.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all records and communications.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English with fluency in speaking and reading.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; post‑secondary education preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to navigate complex software systems.
  • Excellent data entry skills; ability to type 28–30 p.m. accurately.
  • Experience with MS Office, Outlook, and Internet usage.
