KDHE is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented business professional to support our hospitals and ensure that Medicaid recipients receive the care they deserve. This is your chance to engage directly with the state's senior leadership and make a lasting impact on the healthcare landscape in Kansas.
Key Responsibilities- Program Management:
Lead the Health Care Access Improvement Program (HCAIP) to implement effective payment methodologies that accurately reimburse hospitals serving Medicaid members. - Research & Review:
Conduct thorough research on payment methodologies approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. - Payment Distribution:
Oversee the distribution of payments to hospitals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, which impacts over $1 billion in annual funding. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital stakeholders, addressing their needs and ensuring clear communication. - Consultant Oversight:
Review and verify consultants' work in calculating hospital reimbursements to maintain high standard of accuracy. - Data Analysis:
Analyze and validate encounter data and Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) data to guarantee appropriate reimbursements for hospitals. - Regulatory Recommendations:
Advise leadership on proposed new payment methodologies from CMS, ensuring they benefit both hospitals and Medicaid beneficiaries.
- Education:
- Degree in Business, Health Information Management, Finance, or a related field. Experience in financial management and Medicaid reimbursement is a plus.
- Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License
- Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

- Four years' experience in Business related field or Math. Experience may be substituted for education as determined relevant by the agency.

- Cost accounting, Medicaid Experience, Relationship management, Medical claims experience
- Experience compiling and analyzing data
