Lead the future of interventional nephrology

Azura Vascular Care's Interventional Nephrology Fellowship is a structured, multi-year program designed to develop highly skilled interventional nephrologists and future clinical leaders. The fellowship provides a unique opportunity to advance professional development while significantly improving outcomes for patients.

Proven results

The fellowship program has an established history, having trained 27 physicians, with 23 retained in full-time roles. More than half have advanced into Medical Director positions, and five now serve on the Azura Vascular Care Medical Advisory Board.

Fellowship overview

Our approach supports long-term success and includes one year of intensive didactic and hands on training, followed by two subsequent years of clinical practice. This fellowship is ideal for driven, compassionate nephrologists, and is:

  • Designed for physicians with limited or no prior outpatient interventional experience
  • Created as a strong entry point into a dynamic and impactful subspecialty
  • Focused on advancing careers while improving patient outcomes
  • Opportunities for Fellowship at multiple sites across the U.S.

The fellowship is currently offered at our vascular centers in Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY, with expansion of program this year to Los Angeles, CA, Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA and Cincinnati, OH. The program includes:

One year of intensive didactic and hands on training, covering:

  • Normal and Variant Anatomy of Vascular Access
  • Imaging and Radiation Safety
  • Sedation and Analgesia

Two subsequent years of clinical practice, including a proctored component to ensure comprehensive skill development and confidence in outpatient interventional procedures.

This structured, multi-year approach has proven to be a vital pipeline for developing highly skilled interventional nephrologists who support Azura Vascular Care's continued growth and commitment to excellence.

Candidate Profile

This fellowship is tailored for nephrologists with a strong interest in becoming Interventional Nephrologists. Most participants begin the program with limited or no prior experience in outpatient interventional vascular procedures, making it an ideal entry point into the field.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain work authorization without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
