Part‑time Faculty Pool - Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor

Position DetailsPart‑time, non‑benefited adjunct faculty position. Hourly rate: $1000 per credit hour. Desired start date: 01/02/2025. 85% of the role involves curriculum development and instruction; 10% student support and advising; 5% industry and collegiate engagement.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging instruction in electrical theory, wiring methods, code, safety practices, and troubleshooting.
- Provide hands‑on training and mentorship to apprentices in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Assess apprentice performance through assignments, quizzes, exams, and practical evaluations.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and apprentice progress records.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to update curriculum, integrate technology, and assess student learning outcomes.
- Participate in program meetings, professional development, and industry partnership activities.
- Associate’s degree or higher in an electrical field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive industry experience; at least 4 years documented as a licensed journeyman.
- 567 hours of related electrical classroom instruction or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master Electrician license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
- Prior teaching experience or training in vocational education preferred.
- Experience with online teaching platforms and instructional technologies for hybrid or online courses preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Physical ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and twist.
- May operate materials‑handling equipment and work in moderate or loud noise environments.
- Flexible schedule to meet course training requirements, including day, evening, fully online, hybrid, and/or weekend courses.
- Regular attendance at part‑time faculty meetings prior to semester start.
- Documentation of attendance, grades, and apprentice progress required.
- Reports apprentice progress to agencies and industry sponsors.
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae required.
