Job Description
Minimum 1+ years school psychologist experience required.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing psychological assessments, consultations, and interventions to support the academic and emotional well‑being of our high school students. With a student body of approximately 900, the School Psychologist will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities- Psychological Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students, including cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral assessments.
- Consultation Services: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement effective intervention strategies to address students' needs.
- Individual and Group Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling to students to support their mental health and well‑being.
- Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, including risk assessments and development of safety plans.
- Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of school‑wide programs that promote positive behavior and mental health.
- Special Education Support: Participate in special education meetings and contribute to the creation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, services provided, and outcomes.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in school psychology through ongoing professional development and training.
- Education: Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in [State].
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, particularly working with high school students.
- Skills:
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse school personnel, students, and families.
- Proficiency in using technology for record‑keeping and assessment tools.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education.
