Job Summary

Responsible for the design, administration, and implementation of the University’s program for Alumni Engagement that effectively communicates with and generates support from primarily SU Alumni and secondarily from parents, students, faculty, staff, and other University constituencies.

Authority and Accountability

This position will report to the Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement & Advancement. It will currently have two direct reports: an Assistant Director and a Coordinator. The position will have considerable responsibility for budget transaction analysis, including separating budgets into elements, critically reviewing budgetary data, verifying figures, developing budget proposals, and recommending allocation of dollars to programs, services, or departments.

Minimum Qualifications
  • At least a bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of higher education experience in alumni engagement or related areas such as enrollment, development, annual giving, or stewardship.
  • Leadership experience, innovation, customer service, and proficient written and oral communication as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze budget data and recommend financial solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive higher education leadership experience in alumni engagement and experience working with volunteer boards.
  • Proficiency in the use of artificial intelligence, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking.
