Step into a dynamic educational setting where your expertise can make a lasting impact on high school students with low-incidence disabilities. As an Intensive Special Education Teacher, you'll work full-time, providing key support and differentiated instruction for students in grades 9-12.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals in a rewarding contract position for the 2026/27 academic year.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), instructing students in both individual and small group formats, and working closely with families and related service providers. You'll apply your expertise to design strategies that foster academic, social, and emotional growth, delivering meaningful progress for each student.

Qualifications:
  • Active Kansas low-incidence SPED licensure covering grades 6-12
  • In-depth knowledge of high school curriculum accommodations and modifications
  • Experience creating and executing IEPs for students with significant needs
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Dedication to collaboration and ongoing professional development
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Core Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective instruction tailored to individual student needs
  • Develop data-driven progress monitoring and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service staff, and families
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and documentation
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development sessions
