Mid-Level Substation Engineer - Power Engineering

Position Overview
. We are currently looking for a motivated Substation Engineer to join our growing Substation and Transmission Line Design team. As part of a team of highly specialist design professionals, you will support a variety of substation, transmission and distribution projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV. We are supporting both engineering design and EPC projects for clients throughout the country.

Lenexa, KS.

• Work with project team to create all design documents and drawings, including one- and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout plan, section and detail drawings and application of mark-ups for project built drawings.
• Specification development for the procurement, installation and testing of substation equipment.
• Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with project lead, customer representatives, and other stakeholders.

• Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 3 years of experience performing engineering-related duties.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English.

• Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines; overtime and weekends as required.
• May work at various locations and conditions may vary.
