As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive field environment across electrical construction projects. This position is responsible for supporting crews in the field, delivering safety training, performing audits and investigations, and ensuring all environmental, safety, and DOT standards are upheld.
This role requires extensive travel throughout the states of Missouri and Kansas.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct morning safety briefings and deliver project-specific training
- Promote Zero Accident philosophy and intervene in unsafe work practices
- Perform field audits and develop corrective action plans
- Investigate near‑misses, equipment damage, and incidents
- Assist with post‑injury management and DOT drug screenings
- Administer safety orientations and maintain safety documentation
- Participate in site safety committees and customer safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Develop site‑specific safety plans and environmental protection measures
- Associate Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or similar
- 2+ years supporting safety programs in transmission or electrical construction
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and utility safety regulations
- Comfortable leading group training and working in the field
- Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in physical conditions
