Role Description

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant with a background in Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science to join our team in Lenexa, KS. This full‑time position offers career growth in environmental consulting. The role includes assistance with environmental investigation, remediation and permitting projects, producing technical reports for project managers, and applying federal and state regulatory frameworks to ensure project compliance. At least 25% of the time will be spent working in the Arcadis Lenexa office, with up to 25% field‑based tasks and regional travel as required.

Accountabilities

& Responsibilities
  • Produce complex workplans within the RCRA/CERCLA or associated framework for subsurface investigations.
  • Evaluate data to support conceptual site models, form phased and adaptive investigation strategies, modify and optimize post‑remedy long‑term monitoring programs, and produce complex RCRA/CERCLA or similar reports.
  • Address client and regulatory comments on deliverables and drive the strategy toward comment resolution in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Communicate exceptionally with clients to review project status, regulatory framework, and support their needs.
  • Prepare cost estimates to support project budgets and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
  • Prepare subcontracts and coordinate all aspects of subcontractor tasks, including schedule, compliance, coordination, health and safety.
  • Provide emergency response support (environmental sample planning and collection, client and regulator correspondence, onsite contractor oversight) for derailment or HAZMAT spills, with potential travel throughout the Midwest.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • 7 – 10 years of relevant experience.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Previous spill or derailment response experience.
  • P.E. or P.G. license, or working toward this goal.

Salary

Competitive, ranging from $79,920 to $119,880, depending on experience, education, budget, internal equity and project location.
