Role Overview
Project Engineer working in our Lenexa office. Responsible for planning, developing, and directing projects while serving as a technical liaison and project manager across multiple projects. Ensures successful design, implementation, and delivery of integrated control systems in alignment with project specifications and company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design complete hardware and software systems that meet project contract documentation and C&C Group engineering standards.
- Research design alternatives, source suppliers, obtain pricing, review specifications, and verify system functionality.
- Estimate pricing for equipment replacements as directed by technicians and perform post-sale re-estimates to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Assist with bid document preparation and presentation materials, including technical data and CAD drawings.
- Support project managers in coordinating material orders, evaluating lead times, and identifying handling requirements.
- Assist in developing engineering schedules and accurate time estimates for projects.
- Research equipment compatibility, evaluate product quality, and improve existing system designs.
- Manage and execute final equipment purchasing.
- Generate project documentation including submittals, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, implementing corrective actions, and communicating with customers and internal teams.
- Meet both short-term and long-term project deadlines.
- Travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Customer-focused approach with a dedication to delivering high-quality results.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in controls engineering, HVAC systems, or energy management systems.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, temperature controls, process control systems, and energy management systems.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
- Ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
