Principal Engineer – Lenexa, Kansas
Braun Intertec is hiring a Principal Engineer in Lenexa, Kansas. The Principal Engineer is a technical and business leader at Braun Intertec Corporation (BIC) and is expected to lead and guide technical practice, mentor and develop junior staff, and participate in internal and external technical organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManages highly complex projects and provides technical review and project management support for clients across multiple technical disciplines. Prepares and makes decisions for major proposals and contracts. Prepares complex engineering reports offering professional opinions and practical geotechnical solutions. Performs engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies and standards, applying standard formulas and computer software. Interfaces with federal and state regulatory authorities on complex projects.
Develops and delivers client presentations, assists with marketing strategies, and nurtures client relationships. Oversees client contracting with corporate legal support. Coordinates project assignments with engineering and technical staff. Reviews drawings and recommends necessary changes, reviews engineering work and technical reports, identifies complex problems, and resolves them. Manages project teams, mentors and develops technical staff, follows safety policies, and communicates safety requirements.

- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a closely related field; MS or PhD desirable. - Experience:
Minimum 15 years of geotechnical engineering experience in professional consulting services, managing client relationships, and developing new business. - Licenses/Certificates:
Valid Driver’s License; PE Certification required. - Travel:
Offsite travel locally and across the United States, up to 25%.
