Application Engineer

As an Application Engineer you will be a knowledgeable resource in assisting the sales team and external sales representatives with generation of quotations for both systems and component engineered projects. This position focuses on gaining complete material handling knowledge and supports sustainable growth for the company.

• Take Business Unit or Sales Representative concept flow and system information to develop and complete an accurate proposal package in a timely manner.
• Interact with sales and engineering as needed to obtain information required to develop an accurate proposal in a timely manner.
• Generate concept flow drawings utilizing AutoCAD to aid in the evaluation of proposals by customers.
• Generate accurate stack up drawings as needed, utilizing AutoCAD.
• Research outside vendors to obtain buyout component pricing and details.
• Take Service Solutions Group component information and develop an accurate proposal in a timely manner.
• Communicate with customers to obtain necessary details/information for developing and completing accurate proposals.
• Support sales by maintaining customer contact and relationships throughout the proposal process.
• Maintain and update required information within company databases daily, accurately describing the opportunity status.
• Provide external Sales Representative support in a manner that enhances their experience with Horizon, including communications on changes, answering questions and providing alternatives.

• Familiarity with industrial equipment and ingredient handling systems, with the ability to quickly understand technical issues.
• Ability to make well‑reasoned, informed, and timely decisions, analyze, and problem‑solve.
• Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and leveraging Solid Works/AutoCAD drawings and technical schematics.
• Thoroughness, clear logical reasoning, a focus, and meticulous attention to detail.
