Application Engineer

As an Application Engineer you will be a knowledgeable resource in assisting the sales team and external sales representatives with the generation of quotations for both systems and component engineered projects. This position is a development position for gaining complete material handling knowledge. Your efforts must lead to sustainable growth for the company as a whole.

• Responsible for taking Business Unit or Sales Representative concept flow and system information to develop and complete an accurate proposal package in a timely manner
• Interact with sales and engineering as needed to obtain information required to develop and complete an accurate proposal in a timely manner
• Generate concept flow drawings utilizing AutoCAD to aid in the evaluation of proposals by customers
• Generate accurate stack up drawings as needed, utilizing AutoCAD
• Research outside vendors to obtain buyout component pricing and details
• Responsible for taking Service Solutions Group component information and developing an accurate proposal in a timely manner
• Communicate with customers to obtain necessary details/information for developing and completing accurate proposals in a timely manner.
• Support sales as needed by maintaining customer contact and relationships throughout the proposal process
• Maintain and update required information within company databases daily, that accurately describes the opportunity status
• Provide external Sales Representative support in a manner that enhances their experience with Horizon, including but not limited to communications on changes, answering questions and providing alternatives.

• Familiarity of industrial equipment and ingredient handling systems with the ability to quickly understand issues of a technical nature
• Ability to make well-reasoned, informed, and timely decision making, analysis, and problem solve
• Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and leveraging Solid Works/AutoCAD drawings and technical schematics
• Thoroughness, clear logical reasoning, an ability to focus, and a predisposition toward meticulous attention to detail
