Automation and Controls Specialist – Motion Position Summary

New Frontier Technologies (NFT) has a current opening for a full-time Automation and Controls Specialist – Motion. We are looking for individuals experienced in programming applications that require multi‑axis motion control. This position works with industrial PCs, PLCs, servo controllers, drives, motors and sensors in an Industrial Automation environment. Machines and applications may involve robotics and/or machine vision. The person accepting this full‑time position will be resourceful, independent, goal‑driven, and most importantly, a team player.

• Programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial applications involving multi‑axis control.
• Apply machine safety programming and design concepts to new and legacy control systems.
• Work with electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians to assemble and test automation systems.
• Develop end‑user documentation in support of the design, test, and operation of automation systems.

• Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Strong working knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and/or motion control systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Experience with Rockwell PLCs, servos, and VFDs a plus.
• Working knowledge of PackML a plus.
• Ability and willingness to travel (up to 25%).
