This position can be based near one of our main Kiewit design locations—Colorado‑Lone Tree, Kansas‑Lenexa, Texas‑Houston. Some consideration will be made for fully remote candidates that meet and exceed our requirements. We offer relocation assistance to the district office in Lenexa, Kansas.

• Provide design, coordination, and oversight of various mechanical systems typical for biogas, bulk solids material handling, water and wastewater treatment, pump stations and pipeline conveyance, groundwater remediation, stormwater recycling, and other industrial facilities including, but not limited to, process piping, conveying systems, dust collection, general plant/facility water, compressed air, steam, and gas systems. Mechanical system design includes preparing calculations for both pressurized and gravity driven systems to size lines, material selection, and correct Code requirement application.
• Manage the completion of all project design calculations and equipment specifications typical for biogas, bulk solids material handling, water and wastewater treatment, pump stations and pipeline conveyance, groundwater remediation, stormwater recycling, and other industrial facilities including, but not limited to, bulk solids conveyors, dust collection equipment, bins/tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, and other process equipment.
• Coordinate and communicate all aspects of the project’s mechanical design within multi‑disciplinary teams; including the management and oversight of third‑party engineering.
• Review project contracts, customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), professional service agreements, or other contractual documents and incorporate into the design as required to ensure the project meets or exceeds project goals.
• Provide oversight and coordination of projects, working with the assigned design managers and project managers, to meet project budgets and schedules for all mechanical discipline activities.
• Manage other design partners (both internal and external) including construction partners, equipment suppliers, and other engineers and designers assigned to the project or task and review work progress and results.
