Electrical Estimator

A growing electrical contracting team is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support ongoing commercial, industrial, and design-build projects. This role is based in Lenexa, KS, with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite / 1 day remote). This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a conversion salary range of $80K–$130K, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.

About the Role

As an Electrical Estimator, you'll play a key part in project planning by developing accurate, detailed cost estimates that ensure successful project execution. This position is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with project teams.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare comprehensive electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, and design-build projects.
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to evaluate project scope and cost.
  • Use estimating software (preferably Accubid/Anywhere) to develop accurate bids.
  • Review and write clear, detailed scope letters.
  • Support project managers with cost breakdowns, value engineering, and bid reviews.
  • Evaluate project costs to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality proposals.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience, including design-build projects.

  • Strong understanding of industrial/commercial plan-spec environments.

  • Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid/Anywhere preferred).

  • Knowledge of engineering best practices and NEC (2020 and prior).

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
