Product Support Specialist - Onsite (Lenexa, KS)Under the Under the general supervision of the Director of Engineering, the Product Support Specialist serves as a technical subject-matter expert supporting product development, testing, quality, manufacturing, and field operations. This hands‑on role combines deep product and special‑hazards expertise with technical problem‑solving to test and improve products, investigate complex issues, support field execution, and provide advanced technical guidance and training to internal teams, distributors, and customers.
This position is located onsite in Lenexa, KS.

- Plan and execute component, material, prototype, and product testing for new and existing products, including developing test methods and documenting results, observations, and recommendations.
- Support hands‑on test setup and execution involving piping, nozzle arrangements, equipment configuration, pressure systems, and internal or external test facilities.
- Provide practical manufacturing and field‑based input during product design reviews and identify opportunities for continuous product improvement.
- Investigate product returns, RMA cases, field issues, and performance concerns by developing testing protocols, determining root causes, and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues escalated by Manufacturing, Field Operations, distributors, or customers and clearly communicate findings and recommended actions.
- Travel to customer sites to provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service of special‑hazard fire suppression systems.
- Support complex field installations and commissioning activities, including interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, project specifications, and applicable system requirements.
- Develop and deliver technical and product training for Sales, Customer Support, Field Technicians, distributors, and other stakeholders, while supporting product demonstrations and customer‑facing technical questions.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible technical experience in fire suppression, special hazards, fire protection, industrial equipment, or a closely related technical or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with clean‑agent or special-hazard fire suppression systems, including FK‑5‑1‑12 (Novec 1230), HFC‑227ea (FM‑200), and inert gas systems (Inergen/IG‑541).
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands‑on experience involving mechanical systems, piping, valves, cylinders, pressure testing, fire alarm and detection systems, hand tools, and related equipment.
- Experience conducting technical testing, troubleshooting, product validation, or root‑cause investigations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, technical specifications, and related documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to systematically diagnose complex technical issues.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet applicable customer and site‑access requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
